Extremely compact motor control inverter for high-current BLDC motors
Circle-shaped reference design
Supporting FOC and 6-step algorithms, both sensor-less and sensored, this flexible solution is based on the STDRIVE101 low-voltage, triple half-bridge gate driver. Built around a 128-Kbyte STM32G0 MCU and STL220N6F7 STripFET F7 Power MOSFETs, this compact board (50 mm ⌀) is ideal for applications requiring high output currents. Compatible with the STM32 motor control software development kit.
With three half-bridge gate drivers and its own linear supply regulator in a single IC, the STDRIVE101 monitors the drain source voltage on N-channel power MOSFET and signals anomalies to the MCU while preventing inefficienct and potentially damaging switching operations.
Part of ST's motor control ecosystem, the STM32 motor control SDK includes the STM32 motor control workbench (PC software) that provides an intuitive way to configure application software, reducing the design effort and time. A motor profiler is also available one-touch tuning for a fast startup of unknown motors.
