Complete battery pack monitoring, balancing, and protection system
Improve industrial BMS performance
By integrating a high-precision 12-bit ADC, the L9961 monitors individual cell voltages, stack voltage and cell temperature. A dedicated 16-bit high-accuracy current-sense amplifier (CSA) monitors battery stack current enabling the internal Coulomb counter for SOC/SOH estimation. Integrated balancing MOSFETs allow balancing of individual cell. Advanced diagnostics, protection FETs pre drivers and fuse driver, helps battery protection.
The L9961 comes with a complete development ecosystem designed to reduce design times and simplify implementation. From evaluation boards to ready-to-use software packages, we provide everything you need to get started quickly and efficiently.
Ready-to-use GUI showing L9961 device performances
Complete system for quick evaluation of device features
Software package with standalone firmware driver and application examples
The L9961 is our first battery monitoring and balancing IC for industrial applications that offers a high-side / low-side configurable pre-driver and a fuse driver. The integration simplifies designs and reduces costs by lowering the number of external components without compromising features. Avid readers of the ST Blog know the L9963E well, as the automotive cousin of the L9961 has played an essential role in numerous electric cars.
In this webinar, we explore the architecture, features, and operation of the L9961 in detail, along with a look at the wide range of potential applications. Finally, the development toolkit with EVB and GUI/FW package are also presented as part of the complete product offering.
