TeseoVI simultaneous quad-band GNSS ICs and modules

for automotive and industrial applications

The first single-die precise quad-band multi-constellation GNSS receivers

The new TeseoVI family of satellite navigation ICs and modules provides the market with the first ASIL-compliant single-chip solutions enabling sub-centimeter accuracy positioning while supporting simultaneous multi-constellation and multi-band operations.

Embedding ST’s Phase Change Memory (PCM) technology, TeseoVI GNSS ICs and modules help developers simplify designs as an external Flash memory is no longer needed. This also contributes to reduce supply chain constraints and the overall BOM cost. Moreover, the single configurable firmware binary for multi-band reception up to quad band simplifies the management of firmware, ultimately saving costs as well.

The TeseoVI automotive-grade ICs and modules are intended for Standard Navigation and In-Vehicle Systems (IVS) and all automotive applications requiring precise positioning and ASIL compliance such as autonomous driving and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Standard navigation and precise positioning are applied in a variety of industries where these technologies serve many applications such as robotics, lawn mowers, commercial drones and timing systems such as base stations. All those involving asset tracking as well.

TeseoVI is available as standalone ICs…

3 standalone chips built around dual Arm® Cortex®-M7 cores with ST’s proprietary phase-change memory which eliminates the need for an external memory.
All Teseo solutions offer a secure version leveraging an on-chip HSM to mitigate spoofing and jamming attacks in compliance with ISO/SAE 21434 automotive cybersecurity specifications.

The STA8600A is a quad-band, multi-constellation positioning IC requiring the minimum external components. The device provides measurement data with up to quad-band reception and, combined with PPP/RTK engine, offers high positioning accuracy. It supports flexible software configurations and is pin-to-pin compatible with the STA9200MA (ASIL chip) for a single PCB design that is flexible enough for all platforms.

The STA8610A comes with an optional extended 4-Mbyte RAM to run custom algorithms, as well as an external QSPI Flash and RAM interface.

The STA9200MA (ASIL-B version) embeds special firmware and operates dual cores in lockstep providing hardware redundancy to ensure compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety specifications.

But also modules…

The modules contain the chipset and several of the external components (TCXO, RTC, SAW filter & RF Fe components, ...), in a bigger package with less pins, and an EMI shield on top. Modules simplify the development process and reduce design risk as the complex RF path design is already done.
