Ensuring environmental compliance

Environment, Health & Safety regulations are applied in ST worldwide. Our list of regulated chemicals meets the regulations of the countries where we are located and reflects agreed customer requirements.
ST complies with all laws and regulations regarding material declaration and the elimination of chemical and hazardous substances used in products and manufacturing.

ST has adopted the IPC-1752 standard for reporting declarable substances and material groups.

The ST list of banned, exempted and declarable substances is regularly reviewed to include regulations and customer requirements and ensure our suppliers respect our rules regarding the use of chemicals and hazardous substances. It defines STMicroelectronics declarable substances that our suppliers and subcontractors have to report in addition to regulated substances declarations. Our overall objective is to provide our customers with full product material chemical composition based on IPC-1752-2 Class 6 or IPC1752A, including:

The material declarations are available on our commercial part number pages on the estore.st.com.
Either the PDF form (IPC-1752-Class 6, or ST's one for the new forms) and XML form (v1 or v2 fully defined by the standards and that can be loaded on customer's databases) are published on st.com. Files are downloadable under the default filenames PART_NUMBER_md.pdf, PART_NUMBER_md.xml.
IPC-1752A is available for the new products chemical declarations and change only.
The IPC-1752-2 Class 6 forms published on st.com will be reviewed on case by case basis only as no mass documents update obligation applies.
ST's specific product material declaration forms (either IPC-1752-2 Class 6 or IPC-1752A) include the full chemical content of ST products (including REACH SVHC declaration if any).

Lead-free

ST devices are qualified to ensure their resistance to the soldering temperatures for tin-lead solder requested by PC board mounting. ST is a member of the DA5 consortium which seeks to standardize solutions for lead-free solders for attaching dies to packages during manufacturing.
