IoT communication protocols overview workshop

IoT communication protocols overview workshop

May 17, 2018  from 9am to 5pm
Innovation IT Day 2018, Toulouse, France

STM32 free hands-on workshop in partnership with Wizzilab and INSA Toulouse
at the Innovation IT Day 2018

Learn how to make the appropriate trade-offs of the major IoT communication protocols (SigFox-LoRaWAN-DASH7, The Things Network...) to select the best technology for your battery powered connected device.

Accelerate your wireless IoT designs using the STM32 development ecosystem and the WizziKit, a Multimode DASH7-LoRaWAN protocol stack and cloud solution by WizziLab.

At this workshop we will guide participants through several practical hands-on labs on how to make use of STM32Cube together with mbed and WizziKit to rapidly build several IoT applications. We will create a low power DASH7 private network, allowing efficient communication and over-the-air firmware upgrades as well as benefit from the Multimode DASH7-LoRaWAN protocol stack to communicate on the public The Things Network LoRaWAN network.

Who should attend this workshop?

  • Engineers and developers interested in better understanding wireless IoT communication protocols
  • Engineers looking to easily start or improve a wireless IoT design based on an STM32 MCU using the comprehensive STM32 development ecosystem.

The registration for this workshop is closed

As part of your registration, you will receive training directly from an STM32 expert who will be there to assist you and answer any questions you may have throughout the entire day of hands-on sessions.

Confirmed participants will each receive a complimentary STM32 Nucleo-32 development board with an ultra-low-power STM32L432 microcontroller (Nucleo-L432KC) and Wizzilab's SH2050 D7A v1.1 bi-band communication & MEMS sensor shield that they can take home!

A drawing will be held at the end of the day to win a complete IoT sensor gateway set.

Benefits you will take away

  • Working under mbed and insights on the IoT web services of Wizzilab
  • Acquisition, data management, RF limits, ISM regulation
  • Complete understanding of how to use STM32Cube to configure and generate code with the TrueSTUDIO® for STM32 IDE toolchain
  • Strong practical experience on using these tools on your own applications

Prerequisites

All participants are required to bring along their Windows-based notebooks as we would be providing the various drivers and compilers for installation onto your laptops for a more effective hands-on training.
