Motion MEMS and environmental sensors workshop
Join our 1-day free-of-charge Motion MEMS and Environmental sensors workshop with practical hands-on exercises |
Registration for this event is closed
ST offers a wide range of motion MEMS including accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers as well as environmental sensors such as temperature, relative humidity and atmospheric pressure sensors.
During the workshop you will also learn about other ST components (analog, RF, and power management ICs) that can help improve designs based on ST's MEMS and sensors.
Who should attend this workshop?
- Developers looking to quickly implement MEMS and sensors in their application.
- Engineers looking to easily get started with our STM32 Nucleo and sensor expansion boards including the related software packages.
Benefits you will take away
- Good understanding of the features embedded in digital sensors (interrupt engine, wake-up, FIFO, self-test, etc.)
- In the hands-on session, we will use standard software packages along with a time-limited license for IAR Embedded Workbench (EWARM)
- You will enjoy strong practical experience using our development tools; helping you start developing your own application smoothly and quickly.
All attendees will take home a free development kit consisting of NUCLEO-F401RE and X-NUCLEO-IKS01A2 evaluation boards together with practical experience about how to use related software packages (X-CUBE-MEMS1 and X-CUBE-MEMS-XT1) and related PC utilities (Unicleo GUI, STM32CubeMX and Algobuilder).
Workshop Agenda:
08:30 - 09:00 | Registration and system check for pre-installed tools |
09:00 - 10:00 | Overview of ST's motion MEMS and environmental sensors as well as other ST components suited for sensor applications |
10:00 - 11:00 | Technical details on the features embedded in digital sensors (interrupts, FIFOs, self-test, etc.) and application tips (low-power set-up, schematic design, PCB layout, etc.) |
11:00 - 11:15 | Break |
11:15 - 12:30 | Introduction to hardware and software development tools (software packages, libraries, PC utilities, etc.) |
12:30 - 13:30 | Lunch |
Hands-on exercises: Getting started with the STM32F4 Nucleo board (NUCLEO-F401RE) and our motion MEMS and environmental sensor expansion board (X-NUCLEO-IKS01A2) | |
13:30 - 16:30 | • Basic use case examples using BIN files and the Unicleo GUI • Using the sensor and motion algorithm expansion software (X-CUBE-MEMS1), EWARM IDE and STM32CubeMX • Algobuilder (a graphical design application to build and use advanced sensor algorithms) |
16:30 - 17:00 | Conclusion and Q&A |
