Leverage NFC connectivity for secure data transmission
When sharing certain confidential or proprietary information across a network, a secure channel must be established to prevent the interception, reading and modification of its contents as well as to help meet regulatory and legal requirements.
By leveraging the dual-interface characteristic of ST's ST25DV-I2C series of dynamic NFC Tags it is possible to establish a secure transfer channel using NFC technology.
Watch the video to discover how to send, retrieve, configure and upload data through a secure 2-way NFC channel between an Android phone and an IoT device.
The IoT device is represented by the ST25DV-I2C-DISCO kit (available upon request) which features a ST25DV04K Dynamic NFC tag connected to STM32L476 MCU through I2C bus. You can set up a secure transfer channel with an NFC enabled Android™ smartphone to read encrypted sensor data, display an encrypted image and perform a secure firmware upgrade. The NFC Eavesdropper demo shows how the cryptography works during secure data transmissions.
