WeChat Privacy Notices

The purpose of this privacy information notice is to inform you of the processing of personal information when you interact with our WeChat official account registered by STMicroelectronics China Investment Co., Ltd., and STMicroelectronics (Shenzhen) R&D Co., Ltd., with WeChat International Pte. Ltd (hereafter the “Account”).

The usage of the Account is subject to the WeChat Terms of Service ("WeChat TOS") – which sets out terms of use applicable to all users of WeChat, including the WeChat Privacy Policy and the WeChat Acceptable Use Policy.

Your personal information is collected via a form available at “ST Owned WeChat Account, Mini-Program” that you are fee to complete or not.

#4. The purpose of the processing of your personal information.

We collect and use your personal information to promote and sell various goods and services and consequently to complete the transaction associated with your purchase.

We collect and use your personal information to communicate with you.

We collect and the WeChat User OpenID and User Union ID to identify you across different WeChat Official Accounts associated to STMicroelectronics’s legal entities in China.

#5. Where do we store your personal information?

Your personal Information will be stored within mainland China.

#6. How long do we retain your personal information?

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for (see paragraph 4 above).

If you want to review, verify, correct or request erasure of your personal information, object to the processing of your personal data, or if you have any questions relating to the processing of your personal information, please contact us at privacy@st.com

We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity and ensure your right to your personal information is valid. This is another appropriate security measure to ensure that your personal information is not being processed under the request of a person who has no right to make the request.

ST maintains and operates the social media accounts referenced below. Please note that ST’s social media accounts are hosted on third-party sites.

The social media sites and their partners may collect your information and use tracking technology, and their sites are not subject to our privacy statement.

ST does not endorse any particular social media site, its sponsor, or any of the policies, activities, products, or services offered on the site or by any advertiser on the site. Retweets, Follows and Likes do not equal endorsements.

ST Twitter Accounts: features the latest ST news, events, speeches, blogs, videos, articles, job opportunities, tips/resources for users and businesses, and retweets of ST partners.

ST Facebook: features the latest ST news, events, blogs, videos, articles, and tips/resources for users and businesses. ST occasionally hosts Facebook Live events of press conferences.

ST LinkedIn: features the latest ST job opportunities, news, events, blogs, articles, and tips/resources for the business community.

ST YouTube Channel: features videos with ST tips and resources for users and businesses. The account also features past ST workshops and conferences.

ST WeChat: features the article and videoswith the latest ST news, events, speeches, blogs, videos, articles, job opportunities, tips/resources for users and businesses, games for user engagement and message push for important event invitation and notification.

ST Kakao Talk: features the latest ST news, events, tips/resources for users and businesses. Usually post the contents on channel page and occasionally send push message for important event notice.

Video Conferencing Privacy Notice for Hopin Platform

What this Privacy Notice covers?

How STMicroelectronics (we) process the personal information of participants when participating to a video conference organized by STMicroelectronics.

Who is the legal entity providing the video conferencing services?

We have retained the services of Hopin ltd, a company organized and existing company under the laws of England and Wales (“Hopin”), to enable the video conferencing.

We are the controller of the (a) event content (i.e., includes materials submitted in the course of creating an event, as well as any personal data embedded in your event related contents, such as recordings of events, materials you stream during the event, attendee chat transcripts, and other information and materials submitted to or during an Hopin event) and (b) your personal information when you attend an Hopin event (i.e., an online or hybrid event delivered through the Hopin platform), such as image; email address; first and last name; alias; and any additional information provided independently by you in connection with customer events on the Hopin platform.

Hopin Events is cloud-based and hosted by Amazon AWS.

Personal information

To participate to a video conferencing, you will be invited to provide personal information such as image; email address; first and last name; alias; and any additional information you choose to share.

Security settings

We implemented the following default security and privacy settings for all video conferencing:

  • A meeting password is required for all meeting. • Note, the password is embedded in the meeting link, so clicking the link invitation will take you directly to the meeting.
  • Screen sharing is enabled only for the host. The host can grant screen sharing rights to other participants if he/she decides to do so.
  • Possibility for participants to join before meeting starts is not possible.
  • Meeting recording authorization is required. Hosts must request approval from participants before recording meetings.
  • Muting by default. Participants will be automatically muted by when they enter a meeting. The host will unmute participants.

General security recommendations

We implemented the following default security and privacy settings for all video conferencing:

  • Avoid sharing a video conferencing URLs in social media or public forums
  • Avoid joining a video conferencing URLs in social media or public forums.
  • Avoid joining a video conferencing from a public WIFI without using a VPN to secure your communications.
  • Before sharing a print screen of your meeting, verify that the meeting id is not displayed on the image.

Data Privacy Information Notice for Microsoft® Teams

We (STMicroelectronics), the data controller, use Microsoft Teams to hold this online webinar. Microsoft Teams is a service of Microsoft Corporation, situated in One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA. When you use Microsoft Teams in communicating with us, the following personal data will be processed at the time of registration to the online webinar:

  • Three required personal data: First name, Last name, and Email.
  • Other personal data that are not required but you choose to share with us

Note that Automated decision-making or profiling is not used.

You may be able to use the chat function in the online webinar. To this extent, the text entries you make are processed to display them in the “online meeting”. To enable the display of video and the playback of audio, the data from the microphone of your terminal device and from any video camera of the terminal device will be processed for the duration of the meeting. You can switch off or mute the camera or microphone yourself at any time during the online webinar.

If a recording is going to take place on the day you are in attendance, you are informed in the invitation to attend and on the day of recording the session (normally verbally) prior to any recording taking place.

Please ensure you are aware that anything else that may be in the background could be recorded. You can on Microsoft teams put up a background to stop any additional pictures of your home being recorded.

The Microsoft teams recordings will be made available to individuals that work for STMicroelectronics legal entities located in different countries of the world. Also, note that Microsoft may process personal data as a data controller in connection with what Microsoft considers its own legitimate business operations.

The recording will be kept for as long as it is deemed up to date and useful for the service, no longer than three (3) years. It will be appropriately and securely deleted when no longer required.

You have the choice to attend the online webinar or not. If you attend, you are consenting to having your video image/voice recorded. If you have on your camera during the online webinar event or ask a verbal question. It is possible the recording will also pick up your writing in the chat part of Microsoft teams. We need to be clear that you are fully aware of this when you agree to attend and take part in the online webinar recorded session.

ST Sustainability materiality assessment

Please note when you click on the link to the survey, you will be redirected to the Datamaran platform. We use this platform and the services of Datamaran to collect the responses and to prepare an anonymous aggregate analysis of the responses sent to us by Datamaran. Since the analysis of the responses, we receive is anonymous, we do not process any personal data. Please note that before answering the survey, we invite you to read Datamaran's privacy policy, which you will find as a footnote to the introduction of the survey, because when answering the survey, you will be interacting with Datamaran's platform, not with us.
