Automotive
If you’ve enjoyed the comfort and safety of an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS), you’ve likely seen Mobileye in action. This trailblazer in computer vision technology has enhanced the safety of drivers and all road users around the world for over two decades, establishing itself as a leader in the automotive industry serving nearly all major car manufacturers. At the end of 2023, more than 170 million vehicles across 800 car models were built with Mobileye’s cutting-edge technology inside. ST has been supporting Mobileye since its inception, co-designing and manufacturing all their chips.
Imagine hitting the road with a co-pilot that's looking out for you. That's what ADAS is designed to bring to our driving experience—enhanced safety, effortless convenience, and an overall more joyful journey. ADAS is woven into many aspects of our drive, from forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking to adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning.
As for convenience? Features such as adaptive light control, intelligent speed assistance, and traffic sign recognition stand out as prime examples. Naturally, to ensure ADAS functions seamlessly, an absolute commitment to safety and reliability must be granted from day one. This is where ST comes into the picture, having joined forces with Mobileye back in 2004 as its strategic partner of choice.

“
Working with ST allowed us to move forward at an accelerated pace, something we couldn’t have done with other partners.
”
Professor Amnon Shashua, President, CEO, and Founder of Mobileye
The collaboration between Mobileye and ST has supported the rise of six generations of an automotive-grade System-on-Chip (SoC), known as EyeQ™.
ST’s main mission? Assist Mobileye in creating EyeQ™ chips in cutting edge technology nodes using advanced packaging technology that meets Mobileye’s advanced performance requirements. Beyond manufacturing, ST complements the Mobileye chip design teams with advanced Design-for-Test support ensuring that the final products can be manufactured, tested, and delivered with the right performance, quality, and reliability. Simply put, ST assumes full responsibility for manufacturing the chips, using both in-house and partners' technologies to deliver the high volumes of products required for Mobileye’s success.
