Solid state drive (SSD)

Solid State Drives (SSD) serve the same function as Hard Disk Drives, but they have a different set of  internal components; they have no moving parts and data is stored in flash memory. SSDs can access data faster than HDDs and have several other advantages such as better performance and robustness and lower power consumption.
