Rad-Hard Bus Buffers

ST offers the highest flexibility with a large set of 8 and 16-bit ESCC or QML-V qualified rad-hard buffers.

Rad-hard 8-bit bus interfaces

The 8-bit bus interfaces include a variety of inverting and non-inverting bus interfaces, drivers and transceivers, as well as flip-flops, some with latches or 3-state outputs. Part of the HC/HCT and AC/ACT Logic series, they include most generic references such as 240, 244, 245, 373, 374, and 574.

Like all logic products, the manufacture of all these bus buffers has been transferred to ST's proprietary Singapore 6'' fab, securing the lifetime of the products for many years.

QML-V 16-bit bus interfaces

The 16-bit bus interfaces are the 16-bit counterparts of the most commonly used 8-bit references, i.e. 16244, 16245, 16373 and 16374, in AC, ACT and VCX series. The later series feature very short propagation time by using high-end CMOS technology, and dedicated design and layout rules. The objectives are to sustain a very good stability in total-ionizing-dose (TID) up to 300 krad(Si) as well as an excellent immunity to heavy ions up to 120 MeV.cm²/mg linear energy transfer (LET), with compatibility with 5V, 3V, 2.5V, and 1.8V JEDEC I/O levels.

A complete ecosystem

Available in ceramic hermetic packages, all QML-V or ECSS qualified devices come with an ecosystem that includes complete datasheets, application notes, SMD or ESCC specifications, and radiation test reports (upon request) as well as PSpice and IBIS models. AC/ACT and VCX devices are available in versions with grounded lids, complying with the newest design rules for Space applications.
