Key components in a garage door opener are the motor and the associated driving electronics that must provide, high energy-efficiency and reliability, sensors to detect presence and improve safety and the remote control. The motor can be either AC – usually single phase induction motor – or low voltage 3-phase brushless DC type, fed through an AC-DC converter.
