DC motor drives

A DC motor drive is an electronic power converter to drive brushed DC motors; it is typically supplied by a stable 50/60 Hz supply.
The DC motor drive provides a variable DC voltage output to adjust the motor speed and direction, with torque proportional to the current.

Application examples

This topology provides a cost-sensitive solution for low to medium power motors in industrial and consumer applications. The control simplicity allows quick time-to-market in small form factors. Typical applications include motorized positioners, toys, small appliances, valves, and power tools.
