STMicroelectronics Showcases Its Latest Solutions for Industrial Markets at SEDEX 2019
Seoul / 08 Oct 2019STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, will present its latest products and solutions for industrial applications in motor control, power and energy, and automation at SEDEX 2019 (Booth No.: C120), taking place from October 8 to 11 at COEX in Seoul.
The ‘Smart Industry Demo’ is the centerpiece of ST’s booth at SEDEX. Based on various functions such as AI-based image recognition, vibration detection, cloud connectivity, and voice control, ST will demonstrate how people, robots, and factory facilities are interlinked to work together. The demo integrates a wide variety of ST products including STM32 microcontrollers, motion sensors, distance measurement (ToF) sensors, MEMS microphones, Bluetooth® Low Energy IC, along with BlueCoin sensor development boards, STM32 development boards, X-Nucleo expansion boards, and industrial multi-sensor development kits. The demo has been developed using ST’s AI development tool for edge processing, the STM32Cube.AI.
The 'Automation' section is centered around the food image and handwriting distinction demonstrations that employ Embedded AI (Artificial Intelligence) using two powerful STM32 products released earlier this year, the Arm® Cortex®-M-based STM32H7 MCU and multi-core STM32MP1 microprocessor. Other demos include TouchGFX advanced GUI development solutions, industrial IO-Link communication that connects various sensors, Bluetooth Low Energy, Sigfox, CAN/LIN, and ToF sensors for distance measurement.
In Power and Energy, ST showcases its second-generation silicon-carbide (SiC) 1200V industrial MOSFETs and diodes, which deliver very low power consumption at high temperatures with low switching and power losses. Other demos include various packages for power semiconductors, including a 3.6kw totem pole PFC with USB power transmission, Inrush current limiter and ICL, ESD protection, and ACEPACK.
In Motor Control, ST will show its motor-control development kit and an STSPIN32F0-based demo that shows two precisely synchronized small motors performing accurate position control, collision avoidance, and disk rotation at different speeds and accelerations.
In addition, a variety of STM32 Nucleo MCU development boards and X-Nucleo expansion boards will be on display, enabling fast and easy embedded-product design.
