ST's SPC5 automotive microcontrollers are available with several levels of security depending on application requirements from software algorithms to EVITA HSM Medium and Full security profiles. |
SPC56 4B Line and SPC56 EC Line automotive microcontrollers include a Cryptographic Services Engine (CSE) featuring AES-128 encryption/decryption, CMAC authentication and secured device boot mode: all the secure functionalities are implemented in compliance with the SHE 1.1 standard.
The Hardware Security Module (HSM) is a dedicated security subsystem that includes a processor core, dedicated RAM, exclusive program memory (RAM, ROM, or Flash memory) and a cryptographic module to encrypt and decrypt information using a secret key. The HSM runs code independently from the main device processor cores and can be used to implement advanced security and monitoring functions.
ST offers a Software Security Library that includes a set of cryptographic algorithms. Taking advantage of the hardware accelerators embedded in the HSM, ST's engine control unit (ECU) processors support EVITA Medium and Full security profiles.
ST Security software is a licensed product.
