ePOS, ECR and cash drawer

Overview
Point of Sale (POS) terminals enable secure payment transactions by reading information on debit or credit cards – using either one of the established standards including ISO/IEC 7816 serial, ISO/IEC 14443 contactless and magnetic stripe readout – and then connecting to the bank’s servers to register the transaction.  Portable ePOS terminals require wireless connectivity – most often Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi or cellular to connect to a base or to the bank.  ePOS terminals are subject to EMVCo Level 1 and 2, Payment Card Industry - Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS), and when relevant, People's Bank of China (PBOC), certification for the transaction aspects as well as other regulations including the Federal Communication Commission (FCC).
