Environmental sensing

As human activities can be easily affected by environmental conditions, knowing the actual value of a range of physical variables – including temperature, pressure, humidity, light and sound or the presence of chemicals – can be critical in helping to provide greater comfort with the lowest possible energy consumption. Today, environmental sensors are widely distributed throughout buildings and even our personal devices to help develop and deploy innovative cloud-based services to individuals and communities in sectors including healthcare, automotive, building and factory automation. ST offers a broad range of MEMS environmental sensors including temperature, pressure, humidity as well as color, sound and ambient light sensors (ALS), all designed to ensure the lowest possible power consumption to enable the deployment of wireless sensor networks.
