Industrial printers

Overview
Industrial printers are widely used in factories and logistic warehouses to produce large quantities of documents, barcodes and labels which need to be printed out on different types of surfaces other than paper. Motion control sub-systems operate inside industrial printers in order to perform the necessary tasks to ensure a smooth printing process. From aligning the printing head to picking up, feeding and cutting paper, printers use a variety of motors including stepper motors, brushed DC motors – with and without optical encoders – as well as 3-phase BLDC motors with position feedback.
